BANK OF GHANA'S
NOTES AND COINS IN CIRCULATION


In response to its principal objects, the Bank has issued notes and coins in the following denominations:
Notes: ¢20000,¢10000,¢5000, ¢2000, ¢1000
Coins: ¢500, ¢200, ¢100, ¢50, ¢20 and ¢10

The five thousand cedi note contains a security thread which is embedded in the paper, but when held up to the light reads "GHANA 5000". It also has a green coloured iridescent band incorporating a vertical row of stars. At the bottom right hand corner is a feature, which when tilted will show either a star or the letters "BG".
There are two vignettes on the back. The first features an outline of the country of Ghana, and the second, logs being loaded at the Port of Takoradi.
¢2000 Note

The two thousand cedi banknote has a metallic security thread which weaves in and out of the paper. When held up to light, the thread will show as a continuous line on the back side of the note. It also has a copper coloured iridescent band incorporating a vertical row of stars
The back vignette features fishermen at work.

¢1000 Note

The one thousand cedi banknote has a metallic security thread which weaves in and out out of the paper on the front side. When held up to light, the thread will show as a continuous line.
Coins
The Bank has also issued coins in the following denominations: ¢500, ¢200, ¢100, ¢50, ¢20 and ¢10.

The Bank has in stock for sale to the public, a Commemorative Gold coin, a silver coin and a silver slab. All interested persons are to contact The Head, Issue Department, Bank of Ghana.
